THE annual Armagh County Board Golf Classic which is sponsored by Autoline was played in perfect Summer sun at Greenore Golf Club and was enjoyed greatly by all. Peadar Murray, who has been chief organizer for many years, praised the hospitality the teams received from Greenore Golf Club and thanked all the sponsors and participants. Eamonn Mackle of Freeza meats provided delicious burgers for the hungry golfers. John Kielty from Autoline congratulated the organisers and said that Autoline was delighted to sponsor this prestigious event. The competition awards were hotly contested and the winners who edged their way to the top were;
First Place – Middletown Hurling Club with Gerry McCann, T Taylor, P McArdle & D Mc Bride.
Second Place – Greenore Golf Club with John Phillips (Club Captain), M. Murphy, M. Rogan & E Quinn
Third Place – Lurgan Golf Club with Denis McInerney, R. Haddock, M. O’Neill & F. Tallon
The nearest to pin award went to Rory Donnelly and the longest drive to Gerry McCann
