Henry Joy McCrackens 0-11 Ballyhegan Davitts 4-7
Ballyhegan Davitts Ladies booked their place in the Ulster Junior Championship semi-final with victory over Henry Joy McCrackens of Moneymore on Saturday.
And the result was even more impressive considering the Armagh girls travelled to the Derry champions’ backyard.
The first half saw Moneymore and Ballyhegan battle point for point with Moneymore showing great control and marking with the Davitts finding obstacles to every play by a strong opposition.
With low mist and wet ground both teams at times found it hard to keep their feet on the slippery field.
First half saw the Moneymore leading by one point.
The second came fast with both teams playing to their all with possession seemingly more to the Moneymore advantage, however, Ballyhegan battled hard seeing them take their second goal of the match.
As the time rolled on Ballyhegan grabbed a third goal with Moneymore responding with another two points.
Ballyhegan saw the win within their grasp and continued to fight hard against a determined Moneymore team. They then took their fourth goal which sealed their way forward to the semi- finals when they meet Monaghan Champions – Corduff.
