Armagh GAA hosted a festive family fun day at the Athletic Grounds on Sunday.
The event included a Armagh select – Santa’s Squad versus the Grinch Gaels – in an exhibitiion of the new rules set to come into force in the New Year.
Santa’s Squad, managed by Kieran McGeeney, included many familiar faces, including Blaine Hughes, Paddy Burns, Peter McGrane, Tiernan Kelly, Greg McCabe, Niall Grimley, Ben Crealey, Rory Grugan and a potent full-forward line of Oisin Conaty (Young Player of the Year), Andrew Murnin and Stefan Campbell.
Grinch Gaels also weren’t without experience with Ethan Rafferty between the sticks. Conor Magennis and Shane MmcPartlan were part of the starting 15.
The game was played in four quarters with the result as follows:
Santa’s Squad -v- Grinch Gaels.
0-05 -v- 0-05
1-09 -v- 0-10.
1-20 -v- 0-13.
1-22 -v- 1-14.
