Armagh GAA has teamed up with health food, bakery and dairy company Linwoods to take the ground breaking ‘Linwoods Armagh TV’ to the next level.
Linwoods Armagh TV, a unique online streaming platform devised by Armagh GAA in 2012, shows local and county level matches streamed live worldwide.
With tens of thousands of viewers in 2013 alone, Linwoods Armagh TV is bringing local GAA to a global level, with viewers tuning in from as far afield as Brazil.
The Linwoods Armagh TV platform is a perfect fit for the Healthy Superfood manufacturer who currently sell their health food range across 16 countries worldwide. The adaptation of digital technology has allowed Linwoods to reach over 80,000 consumers online each year, with sales from China to Cincinnati.
Taking the lead on Linwoods digital strategy, Digital Marketing Executive Emma Gribben highlights the importance of finding new, relevant ways to reach consumers in global markets; “We are always looking at ways to bring our products to new markets and we continually invest in digital technology to better our business. Linwoods Armagh TV enables us to communicate with people living abroad who have grown up with Linwoods bakery and dairy products or those who buy our healthy superfoods range. We jumped at the opportunity to work with Armagh GAA as we witnessed the success of this platform in just two short years.
“We realise the importance of supporting our local community and we are delighted to work with Armagh GAA to bring fans access to live games and important announcements. In this ever-increasing global world, technology has made communicating and sharing events with family and friends seamless and likewise, we want to facilitate the involvement of Armagh GAA fans right across the globe with the success of Armagh GAA.”
Linwoods is a familiar name in the world of sport, health and fitness having been Official Health Food partner to Dublin GAA in 2013, the year which saw them lift the coveted Sam Maguire trophy. Armagh GAA manager Paul Grimley is hoping that similar luck will come up north of the border this season. Linwoods Armagh TV was officially unveiled on Wednesday 5th February by Armagh GAA’s Vice-Chairperson Michael Geoghegan, Linwoods Managing Director John Woods and the TV stations commentator Brendy McCann.
Welcoming the deal and the new partnership, Armagh GAA County Board Vice-Chairperson Michael Geoghegan said: “This sponsorship deal is a massive boost to Armagh GAA. In the last few years a lot of hard work has gone on for Armagh GAA on and off the field but success cannot be achieved without the support of key partners and we are delighted to have Linwoods on board and part of this innovate project.”
“At a time when the business environment is challenging, sponsorship revenue is essential in helping with the development of the GAA in Armagh. Linwoods is a locally based organisation delivering its product globally like our TV station and they are going to be an exceptional partner. We are confident that Linwoods Armagh TV will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
