It was the most dramatic of endings in the senior camogie championship final on Friday evening as Granemore snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
And it was their crest-fallen neighbours and arch-rivals Ballymacnab who surrendered a two point lead in injury time.
It was a low-scoring but dramatic affair which ended with half-back Ailise McVeigh – with three minutes into time played – firing high from distance. Her shot looped in over the Ballymacnab ‘keeper.
Ballymacnab didn’t have time to respond as Granemore claimed victory on a scoreline of 1-05 to 0-6.
Granemore will be hoping for an historic double when the men take on Crossmaglen in their first ever senior championship final next Sunday.
