From the 10 January 2014, young people from the Richhill area will have the opportunity to engage with their peers, try a new sport and participate in information sessions, with the launch of the wRECk programme. This new initiative will be delivered in partnership with Armagh City & District Council, Armagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership, SELB and the local PSNI.
The wRecK programme will take place in the Richhill Recreation Centre every Friday night from 7pm until 10pm and will run for 10 weeks. It will provide a supervised fun environment for young people aged between 14 and 18 years old. Activities will vary each week, these will include Football, Spin, Volleyball, Badminton and Dance.
Encouraging young people to get involved in the wRECk programme, Armagh Centre Youth Worker, SELB, Brenton English said: “I am delighted to be a part of this project and I am looking forward to offering young people in Richhill a fun alternative to hanging out on the streets”
“It is so important to have initiatives such as this in place to concentrate on working with young people in the area. It ensures a safe and fun place for them to meet while focusing on constructive rather than negative behaviour,” said John Doyle, Community Safety Manager of Armagh PCSP.
