Singing praise for the City’s annual 7 Hills Blues Fest, councillor Garath Keating trumpeted the success of this year’s showcase and favourite on the local music calendar.
“The town was tapping to the beat of the Blues all weekend” said the city representative, “thousands of people attended a host of events across the City including a large number of visitors drawn into the area by the festivals wide appeal.
“A lot of credit must be given to the organisers of the festival. A great deal of time and effort goes into organising such a large and entertaining lineup of performances. It is fantastic to see all those efforts come to fruition and to see the infectious joy of people coming together to enjoy the music.

“This year’s festival was again very well supported by the local hospitality community who provided an array of fantastic venues to help showcase the festival and ensure there was plenty of craic about the place with large numbers attending events over the weekend.
“It made for another wonderful experience” said Keating, who concluded that preparatory work would soon be under way again shortly “to ensure funding and resources would be secured for next years festival.
“The 7 Hills festival provides a lot of free entertainment to the local community and at the same time attracts many visitors into the area giving a welcome boost to the local economy. It has been established as a mainstay on the regional entertainment calendar and will hopefully continue to keep toes tapping and hands clapping for another while yet.”
