SAINT Patrick’s Trian will be hosting an exciting new exhibition by two local artists in October.
“Compass” by James Coyle and Ann-Marie Finnegan will be showing their unique approach to landscape and still-life.
Ann-Marie, a local artist from Tullysaran, has been painting and making hand-crafted jewellery for a number of years. Using her knowledge and understanding of colour composition, she has, over the last two years, dedicated herself to developing her painting. Working in oils, her paintings have a soft delicate feel with a strong emphasis on light and colour. Her work is a collection of local and foreign landscapes.
James Coyle’s paintings have an evolving approach with strong attention to colour resonance and a tendency to create organic, vibrant and yet organized expressions. Dominated by landscape, the works explore a variance of textile-like approaches to painting using both acrylic and oil in an often multi-layered scheme.
Since his first solo exhibition “Terry” in October 2011, James has more recently been involved in a collective exhibition with New York based Armagh photographer, Stephen McGinn, entitled “Autogenic”. This was held at “The Crypt” St Martins In The Field, London, March 2012. Recently James had a number of new works feature at “King House” during this summers “Boyle Arts Festival”. James currently resides and paints in his native County Armagh.
This beautiful exhibition can be viewed in Saint Patrick’s Trian Monday to Saturday from 10am-5pm throughout October. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
