Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched a sensational new Christmas programme of unrivalled events, activities and thrilling things to do for this year’s festive season.
Bringing ‘Our Story of Christmas’ programme to life, cities, towns and villages right across Northern Ireland’s second largest borough will be bursting with magical experiences, lights, music, street entertainment, food, shopping and much, much more.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Gareth Wilson, said: “There’s nothing more festive than a Christmas spent in a unique borough full of things to do, places to eat and visit, and exciting experiences that are guaranteed to capture everyone’s imagination.”
The festive celebrations in the borough will commence with light switch-on events, twilight markets and of course one of the key highlights – the much anticipated annual Georgian Festival in Armagh on November 23-26 – will offer a packed schedule of unique events for history buffs, tourists, families and foodies alike.
There’s a real winter wonderland of surprises available this year from snow-tubing with Santa in Craigavon, a festive family drive-in movie in Armagh to Christmas craft workshops in Banbridge, Dromore and Lurgan.
Taking in all parts of the borough, locals and visitors from right across Northern Ireland and beyond can expect their best-ever festive experience that will make this year’s Christmas season one to remember.
The festive programme runs from mid-November right through to Christmas Eve and is packed with events including Armagh’s Georgian Festival, Banbridge Makers’ Fayre, Sleeping Beauty Panto Spectacular at the Market Place Theatre, a live nativity at Tannaghmore Animal Farm, the Mystery of the Christmas Star at Armagh Planetarium, a Mid-Winter Tale and Winter Solstice at Navan Centre and Fort along with carol services and other musical merriment.
