An exciting, multi-sensory experience will be making an appearance at Aonach Mhacha, Armagh on Saturday October 14.
Ancient Whispers Art Exhibition showcases the work of Dr Jo Fitzsimons and Nicola Haughey. Tickets are free and should be booked via eventbrite.
Nicola Haughey is an artist from County Armagh who loves to explore the ancient landscape of Ireland and its deep connection to the human spirit. She believes that this connection is essential to our well-being, and her paintings are a celebration of it.
Inspired by the old stories, songs and myths from the past, she weaves them into her paintings to both revive and preserve them. Nicolas’ work evokes a sense of belonging and connection.
Dr Jo Fitzsimons is Head of Flourish Specialist Education Services in East London, which runs high-quality Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses and Foundation Degrees (FdA) in partnership with Greenwich and Kingston Universities, as well as excellent outreach services for mainstream schools in surrounding boroughs.
She has a doctorate in SEND with a specialist interest in profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism and sensory learning.
Jo has also been involved in a wide range of International and European research projects and conferences offering training, support and advice on various aspects of SEND practice.
Of the exhibition, Jo said: “This is such a magical opportunity to celebrate our ancient heritage and experience through our senses the stories of our past. We will immerse you in the smells, tastes, sounds and feel of the sea, land and sky. We hope you will come along and engage in this enchanting event.”
The exhibition will also be raising funds on the evening, in aid of Triple A.
