Keep up with Armagh i

Get set for a weekend of tractors, trucks and fun for two very worthy causes

It’s that time of year again as the ever popular Skip Car Tour gets underway – with fun and fundraising the name of the game.

It all centres around Basil Sheils at Tassagh on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29.

And once again all money raised will go to Marie Curie and Newry Hospice.

On Saturday its the annual Orchard Truck Run with the truck park opening at 10.30am.

There will be live music all day on the road with Johnny Brooks, helicopter rides will be available in the park all day, before the trucks leave at 4pm.

They will arrive in Keady at 4.15pm, before making their way to Newtownhamilton 4.45pm, Clady 5pm, Markethill 5.15pm and then into Armagh from Markethill on the main road, arriving Armagh at 5.45pm.

The procession will then make its way through the city and then back to Ferla crossroads for 6.15pm, arriving back at Sheils for 6.30-6.45pm. All times are approximate.

Last year 400 trucks took part in the convoy and this year the same is expected, so please come out and support the convoy as it passes through your area.

Saturday night you can dance the night away in the marquee at Basil Sheils to Country Features and Box Car Brian, plus for the first time ever in Ireland the crowning of the Queen Tang.

Sunday, its The Hit the Diff tractor run. Last year there were 200 tractors and a similar number is expected this time

Finish off the weekend in the marque to The Fuzzy Burgers!

To date the Skip Car Tour has raised over £200,000, so please donate what ever you can to help provide funds for two charities that do such great work .
