Northern Ireland talent organisation Jazzlife Alliance, and its artistic director David Lyttle, are searching for aspiring young musicians to join its prestigious Jazz Juniors programme in September.
The roadshow will visit Armagh on Saturday, August 26 during their workshop tour of Northern Ireland.
Jazz Juniors offers under 18s the chance to learn jazz improvisation with David Lyttle, an internationally-acclaimed, MOBO Award nominated NI jazz musician who has brought his projects to almost 50 countries.
Students take part in monthly sessions at The MAC, Belfast, attend masterclasses with world-renowned musicians, perform concerts nationwide and receive individual mentorship.
Its principal funder is the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and students on the scheme have performed for over 2,000 people since it was founded in 2021.
David Lyttle, who has worked with jazz stars, hip hop icons and familiar homegrown names such as Liam Neeson and Duke Special, said: “I’m looking forward to meeting an array of young musical minds on my workshop tour of Northern Ireland.
“No experience in jazz is necessary and I hope that some of the students will be interested in continuing to explore jazz improvisation through our Jazz Juniors scheme.”
The Jazzlife Alliance Roadshow visits Aonach Mhacha on Saturday August 26 at 4 pm. Places can be reserved by emailing info@jazzlifealliance.org.
