Sarah Jane Scouten and Anthony Turner to perform at Armagh’s Market Place Theatre

Sarah-Jane-Scouten

Anthony Toner makes a welcome return to Armagh’s Market Place Theatre on March 1 for an intimate concert to celebrate the release of his ninth album, ‘Our Lady of the Wind and Rain’.

Since the release of the hugely popular single ‘Sailortown’ ten years ago, Anthony has been constantly in forward motion, releasing a string of popular albums and playing countless live performances.

Along the way he has chalked up a string of memorable songs, including ‘Well Well Well’, ‘The Duke Of Oklahoma’, ‘East of Louise’, and recently ‘An Alphabet’.

Expect an evening of peerless guitar playing, great stories and songs old and new.

International touring songwriter, Sarah Jane Scouten, joins us on March 7.

Expect flavours of Lucinda Williams, Nanci Griffiths and Iris Dement as the three-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee and Western Canadian Music Award nominee takes to the stage.

A traditionalist at heart, Sarah Jane shows her signature flair for the roots of roots music. With respect for these roots, she writes from her own perspective, playing with style to create her own distinct voice. Tickets for both performances are priced £12.

Tickets are available from the Theatre Box Office on [028] 3752 1821, or online at www.visitarmagh.com/marketplacetheatre.
