Launching the New Year entertainment on Thursday 2 January is veteran Irish songwriter Kieran Goss and singer Annie Kinsella. Goss has long been considered one of Ireland’s greatest songwriters.
Together with Annie Kinsella, who has joined him onstage on his recent tours, they have enchanted audiences with their live performances and won rave reviews.
Recorded in New York in Spring 2018 with eight time Grammy winning engineer Kevin Killen at the helm, ‘Oh, The Starlings’ has been described by songwriter Rodney Crowell as: ‘So good, it¹s heartbreaking… the record itself feels like an old friend.’ With songs, stories and harmonies that transport the listener to another world, this is music from the heart, for the heart.
‘Our Jimmy Past & Present’ returns to The Market Place on Thursday 9 January, featuring some original and some new material from the beloved comedy characters Lily O’Condriac, Billy Hulk, Big Derek, Orange Lil, Willie Simpson, The Ballymena Man and wee Sammy the Schoolboy.
This is a show that will delight fans old and new who enjoy good Ulster humour. Join William Caulfield as he celebrates the comedy legend that was James Young.
On Saturday 18 January, ‘Beatles: The Studio Years’, a 9-piece band of multi-instrumentalists, will passionately recreate all the classic Beatles hits including ‘All You Need Is Love’, ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’, ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ and ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’, as well as some hidden gems that showcase The Beatles absolute mastery of songwriting.
