Great evening ahead this Saturday 9 April at The Market Place Theatre & Arts Centre, Armagh if you are a fan of Nina Simone.

'Singing Nina' with Victoria Geelan mixes Jazz favourites with stomping gospel, piano ballads and civil rights anthems to create an intoxicating insight into an artist whose musical mastery continues to inspire generations. Together, they tell the story of the life of the late and very great Nina Simone, through songs such as ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’, ‘Feeling Good’, ‘To Love Somebody’ and ‘Ain’t Got No - I Got Life’.

And there is live music after the show in The Market Place Theatre Bar & Bistro so no excuse not to make a night of it.

There are just a few places remaining on this Saturday's 'Animation Film Directing' workshop for 8-12 year olds. This fantastic two-day workshop will bring to life a world where anything can happen direct from your own imagination. Learn how animated films are prepared, create your own characters and sets, and turn them into movie stars with sound effects and music. Great fun and learning guaranteed!

Be sure not to miss the fabulous exhibition currently on display in The Market Place foyer by artist Blawnin Clancy, daughter of the late Tom Clancy. The south coast of Ireland is the inspiration for much of 'On The Horizon', an exhibition of new paintings featuring spellbinding seascapes, misty islands and outcroppings off the coasts of Waterford, Cork and Kerry, which are earning Blawnin a reputation as an artist of great distinction. Blawnin's exhibition will be on display until 23rd April.
