Keenan, Lillian.
We the family of the late Lillian Keenan, who died on February 8, 2024 her husband Jim, sons James and Martin, daughter Lisa and their families, wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all those who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement.
To our family, friends, neighbours and the many people who visited our home, particularly those who travelled great distances to offer their sympathies and to all those who sent Mass Cards and Offerings – including all the very appreciated homemade food, Phoned, Messaged and donated to the Southern Area Hospice, we thank you for all your support and care.
A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Mandeville Unit in Craigavon Area Hospital, Daisy Hill Hospital and Dr Barrett from Cornmarket Surgery also all the District Nurses from Ivy brook and the Southern Area Hospice staff who tended to Lillian the weeks and days leading up to her passing. The care and attention she received will not be forgotten.
We would like to extend our gratitude to those who made the funeral service so special. To Lillian’s lifelong friend Canon John Kearney for visiting her during her illness and his comforting words celebrating the Requiem Mass and burial, to Davinda Rafferty and Danny O’Neill for the beautiful music and singing and to all our family and friends who acted as coffin bearers and those who participated in the Mass – we thank you.
Words cannot express our thanks to the people who rallied around us, especially Bernie Torley and Patricia Heaney for taking so much of the organisational pressure off our shoulders and for the guidance and support provided during this difficult time, they are angels walking among us.
To all those family and friends who helped out in the family kitchen and brought food, Seamus McAteer at the Boulevard Event Catering, Philly and Allison Murtagh at Viand and Niall McQuillan at Ballyholland Shop and organised the house you were amazing. To Ballyholland INF for everything they provided for the wake and holding the funeral luncheon. To Hugh and staff from Diamonds for the lovely food served at the luncheon.
Our heartfelt thanks to Patricia, Connor and Yvonne at Heaney Keenan Funeral Directors for the dignified manner in which they arranged and conducted the funeral arrangements. Patricia, you provided a calm in the storm and we are eternally grateful for your sensitivity, professionalism, care and support. A special thanks to Cecilia and her team at Central Florist for the stunning funeral flower arrangements.
It is impossible to thank everyone individually for the show of love and sympathy so please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our families deep appreciation for the kindness and support received.
‘So when tomorrow starts without me, do not think we’re apart. For every time you think of me, remember I’m right here in your heart.’
Lillian’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated on her birthday Friday March 8, 2024 at 7.30pm in St Brigid’s Church, The Meadow, Newry.
