Overview
Don’t Box Me In Support Group was established to develop and promote empowerment of young people using a multi arts approach which will include young people with and without disabilities aged 8-25. Young people are supported to hold roles as members of the executive committee and have an active part in management and governance of the project.

The Organisation’s objectives is to include and empower young people with or without disability, to train and learn new skills through drama, music, art and multimedia, without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, disability/ability, race, political, religious or other opinion.

Job Title: Project Co-Ordinator
Salary: NJC Scale Point Pt 27 (£23,112.11)
Hours: 25 hours
Annual Leave: 27 days and 10 Statutory Days (pro rata)
Reports to: Line Manager
Responsible to: DBMI Management Committee

The post is for 18 months and maybe extended subject to funding.

Job Purpose:

To provide support and activities to children, young people and their families in accordance with the aims and objectives of the organisation. To listen to young people with and without disabilities and facilitate them to participate in a range of artistic mediums that enables them to build confidence and resilience, develop mentoring skills and integrate them into their local community of Keady and surrounding areas.

Main Duties

1. To work with young people and their families, on a one to one and group basis, using a range of artistic mediums to help the individual to identify their needs and to achieve positive outcomes.

2. To work in partnership with young people so as to organise and facilitate a range of programmes that will support empowerment, help develop life skills, improve health and wellbeing and build resilience

3. To work co-operatively with schools, children’s services, health agencies and other community-based services, to provide the most effective service for young people and families.

4. Develop volunteering and mentoring programmes and supervise one Part staff member and volunteers

5. To contribute to service development.

6. To assist the DBMI Management Committee with the development of financial and sustainable strategies for all associated activities and training. Identify relevant funding bodies, complete funding application forms and reports.

7. To be competent in the use of IT, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

8. Carry out relevant administrative duties and ensure proper record keeping for all systems and funding in line with GPDR

9. Compile monthly/annual reports and worksheets

10. Maintain monitoring database to ensure accurate and up to date information

11. Provide verbal and written reports on an ongoing basis monitoring of the project

12. Attend regular supervision sessions as required

13. To participate in training as and when required

14. To keep strictly confidential any information regarding Children, young people, their families, and others in line with the organisation policy and procedures

15. To undertake any other duties relevant to the post

General Requirements:

The post holder will be required to:

1. Ensure DBMI policy and procedures on equality of opportunity are promoted through all aspects of the role including programme delivery and volunteering

2. Co-operate fully with the implementation of DBMI health and safety policy, reporting any incidents/equipment defect to line manager and maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe environment for clients and other staff

3. Adhere at all times to DBMI policies and codes of conduct including:

• IT Security Policy
• Data protection Policy
• Standard of Attendance, appearance and behaviour

4. Understand that this post may evolve over time and that this job description will be subject to review in light of changing circumstances
