A Memory Walk to raise money for the vital work of the Alzheimer’s Society is due to take place in Bessbrook this Saturday, August 23.
The organisers of the event are calling on everyone in the Armagh and Newry areas to get involved.
Daniel Mallon, Kiera Hughes and Barbara Beattie are calling on residents to show their support and walk for a world without dementia as part of the Alzheimer’s Society’s biggest annual fundraising event.
The walk will start from Mallon’s Funeral Home beside the Old Mill on Mill Road in Bessbrook at 3pmthis Saturday. It will depart from here, follow a marshalled route around the village and finish at Bessbrook Community Centre, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
There will be a short 2K walk and a longer 5K walk and both are suitable for people of all abilities, children, wheelchairs, pushchairs and pooches on leads!
Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, organisers hope to make a difference so big, that one day, no one will have to face this unjust condition.
Memory Walk is Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship fundraising event taking place across Northern Ireland this autumn. It is a lovely family day full of fun and entertainment and gives all the opportunity to highlight the importance of raising awareness around dementia.
The money raised will help fund research to find a cure for dementia as well as funding services for people living with the disease.
