A £200,000 public tender has been advertised to repair historic walls in Armagh city.
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council have put out a public tender for the work at Palace grounds.
The conservation repair work will include the walls around the adjoining rugby club and palace demesne.
It is expected that the work will take up to six months to complete.
The closing date for the receipt of completed tenders is 12 noon on Friday, September 2017.
The walls, which have undergone repair work in recent years, extend right down the slip road out onto the Keady road and few hundred yards up the Newtownhamilton Road.
They go up the Newry Road and surround the Demesne off the Friary Road.
On the grounds of the palace are the surviving walls of the nave-and-chancel church and tower of the Franciscan friary, which was founded by Archbishop Patrick Scannail in 1263-64
However, these will not be touched.
It remains unclear how much of the walls are to be repaired in the works.
Armagh’s other listed walls include the Grade B inner workings around the Mall in the centre of the city.
