The A3 Portadown Road, Armagh resurfacing and widening scheme is progressing and moving into the next phase which will require resurfacing of the road.
Whilst work has been undertaken maintaining one lane in each direction, to facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme it will be necessary to implement a full road closure over a number of weekends. The dates for these and the number of closures will depend on progress and the weather.
However, the first two planned closures are on:
From 8pm on Saturday, February 17 to 6am on Monday, February 19.
From 8pm on Saturday, February 24 to 6am on Monday, February 26.
During these times a signed diversionary route will be in place via Richhill and Hamiltonsbawn and vice versa. Local access within the extent of the works will be facilitated. Drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time for their journey.
Any changes to the programmed dates will be advertised on the TrafficWatchni website.
The further planned dates for closures, subject to progress and weather, are as follows:

From 8pm on Saturday 09 March to 6am on Monday 11 March 2024. – Possible extension from 6am on Saturday dependent on weather
From 8pm on Saturday 23 March to 6am on Monday 25 March 2024. – Possible extension from 6am on Saturday dependent on weather
From 8pm on Saturday 06 April to 6am on Monday 08 April 2024.
From 8pm on Saturday 13 April to 6am on Monday 15 April 2024.
From 8pm on Saturday 20 April to 6am on Monday 22 April 2024.
