Friends and colleagues of an Armagh car dealership did not hang about when asked to undertake a charity abseil!
For the 10-strong team rose to the challenge and raised an astonishing £7,500 for Air Ambulance NI.
The Fleetwise team abseiled down the 100ft historic Derry Tower building last month to raise as much as possible.
And their knee-knocking challenge really did pay dividends, with fundraising efforts spreading far and wide amongst friends, family, members of the community as well as support from other local businesses.
Director Kerrie Mackle said: “We were delighted to raise money for such a worthy cause that can be so important in the life-saving service they provide.
“During a visit to the Air Ambulance premises we were able to see the charity operations and learn of the excruciating operating costs the charity is faced with.
“It brought to life the challenge this charity overcomes every day just offering its service and the team are humbled to know we can contribute in any way possible. A huge thank-you to everyone who donated and supported us.”
Since July 2017, the Air Ambulance service has helped save lives all over Northern Ireland. Air Ambulance NI and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) work in partnership to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, which offers advanced pre-hospital critical care to trauma patients anywhere in the province.
This service operates seven days a week for 12 hours per day, and from its operational base in Lisburn can reach even the furthest areas in approximately 25 minutes. Those few minutes can mean the difference between life and death, but HEMS ensures swift attendance of emergency medical care for casualties anywhere and everywhere across the region.
