An Armagh man accused of sexual communication with a child will stand trial in the Crown Court next month.
The 42-year-old told the court he did not wish to submit any evidence during a preliminary enquiry into the case.
Adrian Whyte, of Markethill Road, appeared officially charged with ‘communication with a female under the age of 16 for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification’ at the city’s Magistrates’ on Tuesday.
It was heard that the alleged offence took place on July 15 of last year.
Prosecution stated that, based on the papers before the court, she felt there was a prima facie case.
Defence barrister Seamus Lannon made no contrary submissions.
Whyte was released on his own bail of £500 and is due to appear before Newry Crown Court on December 18 for arraignment.
