A quantity of drugs were seized by police during two house raids in Armagh city this week
Officers from Armagh Neighbourhood Policing Team, alongside colleagues in Tactical Support Group, carried out two searches in the Armagh City area on Wednesday, November 8.
Sergeant Campbell said: “A number of items were seized, including a quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs and suspected drugs paraphernalia.
“These searches and seizures demonstrate our commitment to keeping local communities safe from this type of criminality and removing these illegal substances from our streets.”
Anyone with concerns or information about the supply of drugs in their area is advised to contact police on 101. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
DUP Councillor, Scott Armstrong, welcomed the removal of drugs from Armagh streets.
“To hear of the successful searches in our city is always good news to the general public,” he said.
“Action from the police on the ground to thwart illegal activity is welcomed at all times. After liaising with PSNI officers they have assured me that they will continue to disrupt and tackle drug crime in Armagh City and encourages law abiding citizens to report any and all illegal and suspicious activity either online or via 101.”
He added: “I would like to put on record my thanks to our police officers on the ground. They continue to work day and night to disrupt criminals and we should all be thankful for the service they put in on a daily basis.”
