The mother of a teenage girl who tragically passed away in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne earlier this month has so far raised over £2,000 to say ‘thank-you’ to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
Eighteen-year-old Jeni Larmour, a former Deputy Head Girl in the Royal School Armagh, passed away at halls of residence on Saturday, October 3.
The popular student had only just started at Newcastle University, where she was studying Architecture and Urban Planning.
The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust had supported the family as they brought Jeni home to Newtownhamilton.
The teenager was laid to rest in Armagh last weekend.
The tragic loss of Jeni has devastated her many family and friends.
And heartbroken mum Sandra this week launched an appeal for donations in support of the great work done by the Newry-based Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, established by Colin and Eithne Bell in memory of their own son who was killed in a hit and run in New York in 2013.
The charity works to help bereaved families bring home loved ones who have died overseas and has assisted numerous grieving families over the past number of years.
It does so with the help of community fundraising and support which ensures this vital work can continue and that Kevin’s legacy lives on.
This week, as Sandra Larmour launched her appeal for donations, she also used social media to give thanks to everyone who had helped bring comfort and support at this tragic time.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who has supported me, Daniel, mum and my family over the past few weeks,” she wrote.
“Jeni’s death was untimely, tragic and unnecessary ..such a beautiful, talented, outstanding girl who had so much to offer.
“The help, support, messages, cards, flowers, food, thoughts and prayers of you all have truly humbled me at this time. Thank you to everyone.”
To date the appeal has raised a fantastic £2,330 and is rising daily.
