Tyrone-born artist Aidan McGillion launched a brand new art exhibition in the recently re-opened Aonach Macha Centre on Friday night.
Better known by many as a musician with Hatchjaw and Villiers and The Villans, Aidan hails from Newtownstewart but has been living in Armagh for the past 20 years and is well-known in the arts community locally.
Working mainly with oil on canvas, Aidan has spent lockdown completing several commissions and creating the works for the exhibition, which will run for the entire month of June.
There is no main theme to the exhibition, but works include, still life, landscapes, portraits and some prints of previous works.
An avid fan of Irish writers, there is a series of portraits including Paddy Kavanagh and James Joyce.
For the music fans, there are portraits of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave. Also included in the catalogue are several landscapes of Armagh City. One of the main pieces of work are paintings of homegrown musicians, Aidan Prunty and Arty McGlynn.
