It was a week of loving Armagh when local church Vibe held their summer kids’ club.
Volunteers, including a number from overseas, visited eight different areas in the city – Callan Bridge, Drumarg, Alexander, Orangefield, Milford, Foley, and Ardmore – bringing free activities such as face painting, nail art, balloon modelling, bouncy castle, football, dancing, stories and games.
A three-day football camp, which hosted 60 children each day, was a big hit, with prizes and a ‘world cup’ for the winning team, while dozens enjoyed games, dances, snacks, crafts and bible stories as part of the ‘Time Lab’ themed activities.
Two hundred homemade treats were given out to businesses, volunteers carried out odd jobs such as litter picking and grass cutting and free flowers were delivered to local care homes.
A free family fun night attracted more than 1,000 people, with £250 of Amazon vouchers given out.
Said one of the leaders: “We had people from all over Armagh there enjoying a great time, no matter our different backgrounds or cultures.”
