Enforcement investigations have begun following a fly-tipping incident in Armagh, Council has confirmed.
Armagh I reported on the incident, which occurred in the Drumadd Green area of the city on September 28, over the weekend.
Residents and a member of the Friends of the Folly Group (FOTF) raised concerns over the dumping, both in a residential area, and next to the Folly Glen – a local beauty spot.

John Lucas, a member of FOTF, said he was concerned that the mess, which included bags of household rubbish and carpets, had not been cleared more than a week after it was first reported.
Furthermore, evidence within the contents of the rubbish – and eye-witnesses – pointed to those who were likely responsible for the environmental crime.
Speaking last week, John said: “Two men were spotted taking the rubbish out of their bin and walking across the road and just dumping it. Now, there’s a load of carpet dumped in the same spot.
“I went in to their office on Friday and gave them the letters that were lying in the bags, which had their address on it. We gave them photos and the address of the house.”
Today, the Council have issued a response, stating they are now investigating the incident.
In a statement to Armagh I, a Council spokesperson, said: “Officers within ABC Council were made aware of rubbish left in the Drumadd Green area of Armagh. Legal notices were subsequently served on two named individuals. The dumped rubbish has now been removed from the site. Enforcement investigations by council are continuing.”
