A Co Armagh man who is accused of indecent and sexual assaults on two woman will face Crown Court proceedings in May.
The 65-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ on Wednesday for a preliminary enquiry.
He faced three counts of indecent assault on a female, sexual assault and sexual assault by penetration.
It was heard the alleged indecent assaults dated back to 1974 and all related to the same female.
The other charges which the defendant is accused of committing were from 2016 and were in reference to another female.
He is alleged to have sexual touched this female without consent and penetrated her anus with his finger, again without consent.
The defendant submitted to the holding of a preliminary enquiry on Wednesday.
Prosecution stated: “Based on the papers before the court there is a prima facie case to answer”.
Defence solicitor Richard Monteith made no contrary submissions.
The defendant was released on his own bail of £500 to return before Craigavon Crown Court on May 9.
