Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to an assault in a city housing estate at the weekend to come forward.
It was reported that a 21-year-old man was assaulted on his own doorstep in the Callanbridge Park/Legar Hill area at around 5pm on Saturday.
Constable Eamonn Campbell said two men – both described as being in their 50s and wearing dark clothing – threatened the victim.
“One of them headbutted him causing the victim to fall and hurt his ankle,” added the officer.
“The 21-year-old male received treatment for his injuries in hospital. They are not believed to be life-threatening.
“We are appealing to anyone that may have any information or to anyone that may have seen the males in the area at the time or to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity to contact Armagh Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 968 10/12/16.
“Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide any information without giving their details the can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
