If you’re racking your brains for a practical but personal gift for Father’s Day, then look no further than McCrystal Opticians in Armagh.
With the big day coming up on Sunday, June 20, the Scotch Street business is offering half price frames for all men who have an eye test during the month of June – you must mention the Father’s Day offer; an exclusive to Armagh I readers!
The offer includes popular fashion brands such as Ray-Ban, Calvin Klein, Superdry, Cat and many more.
Optician Aidan McCrystal, who has owned the practice for more than 30 years, said another frame which is particularly popular with men is Flexit.
“It’s completely flexible. You can bend it, manoeuvre it, it’s virtually unbreakable,” he said. “A lot of men choose it because they need something more robust.”
The eye test is also the perfect opportunity to keep on top of your optical health and ensure that any sight-threatening conditions are detected early.
The business recently acquired a hospital-grade eye-scanner, which identifies early signs of serious conditions.
These include the two most common, glaucoma and early stage macular degeneration – a loss of central vision – which are more prevalent among older patients.
The growing practice has also just taken on another optician, Ruth Irwin, to accommodate patients.
The Father’s Day offer is only available in conjunction with a full eye examination and complete spectacles, namely those including lenses.
The practice is open Monday to Friday with late night opening on a Monday evening until 7.30pm, for the convenience of working dads and those who simply can’t make it during the day.
