A new childcare services facility could be opening up in Armagh city centre.
There are plans in the pipeline for a new unit for pre-school children within the Armagh City Shopping Centre at Dobbin Street.
It would see two units on the first floor of the shopping centre being joined together to accommodate the planned activities.
The former Hugglebugs children’s play area and the offices of Knipe Recruitment collectively form the proposed base.

Planning permission is being sought for a change of use and alterations to allow the development to proceed.
It would be proposed that 12 children would be accommodated at a time, with twice daily sessions.
The intended new unit would provide what has been described as a “setting based programme for children in their pre-school year”.
And the programme would focus on “activities which enhance children’s social and emotional development and builds on their language and communication skills”.
An application for the work has been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration and will be publicly advertised this week.
