A very historic day in terms of space exploration will arrive tomorrow (Tuesday).
And Armagh Planetarium will be playing its part – and allowing you to join in.
British European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake is due to be launched on his mission to the International Space Station.
And at Armagh Planetarium there will be special events to mark the occasion.
The award-winning educational facility will be screening the launch and docking with the ISS.
The Planetarium will also be screening showings of the digital theatre show ‘Astronaut’, as well as running workshops for schools throughout the day. Workshop themes include astronaut training, astronaut nutrition and exploring the universe.
Then, tomorrow evening, there will the chance to taste astronaut ice cream, make your own clay astronaut and you can even – weather permitting – see the ISS pass over Armagh!
As if that wasn’t enough, the Planetarium’s regular free open night will also be going ahead when visitors will have the chance to see the stars for themselves.
