Benjamin Telford, 20, of Drumhillery Park, appeared before Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Newry Courthouse, on Tuesday charged with one count of common assault and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Having previously denied the charges, the 20-year-old entered a plea of guilty to both, which occurred on August 23 last year.
Initially up for contest, due to a plea of not-guilty to the ABH charge, Telford changed his plea following an agreed statement of facts, according to his defence counsel.
Deputy District Judge O’Hare added: “It’s up to you Mr Telford to contact probation. They’ll contact you but you have to make sure that for the 26th of July you have cooperated with the preparation of the pre-sentence report.”
The case was adjourned until July 26 for sentencing.
