The Met Office have issued a new Amber warning for rain across counties Armagh and Down.
This is the second-highest level of warning available, indicating an increased risk of flooding and disruption.
Homes and businesses could be affected and there is an increased risk to life.
Already, roads across the Orchard county are struggling with the deluge and it’s only set to get worse over the next 24 hours.
Over the weekend, residents in Lislea saw flood water enter their housing development due to the unprecedented amount of rainfall. See video below.
The main Gosford Road from Newry to Markethill was closed because of flooding, while the A1 near Loughbrickland was closed for a period for the same reason.
The upgraded warning comes into effect at 9pm tonight and will remain in place until 9am on Tuesday. A further yellow weather warning is in place for later on Tuesday, offering little to no respite for the embattled roads.
The Met Office is warning of between 25mm and 50mm of rain in places.
