Tributes have been paid following the passing of one of Armagh’s most highly respected and colourful characters.
Elsie Pearson was well known throughout Armagh for her incredible – and often matching – attire.
But more notably; Elsie was just as incredible inside as she was out.
She always had a kind word for those she met. Those words often came in the form of a song or poem and were always accompanied with a huge smile.
Her aim was always to brighten the days of those she met. And she certainly did that.
Upon learning of her passing friends and family have shared their condolences, with one person stating: “This beautiful, quirky wee lady will be missed in Armagh. Always dressed immaculately and hair and make-up done to perfection. A ray of sunshine, that loved a wee chat and a song.
“As said before, Heaven will be a more colourful place with you in it Elsie.”
Another said: “Deepest sympathy to all Elsie’s friends and family. The town won’t be the same without wee Elsie and her fabulous style and recitals of her poetry.
“In her own words ‘Keep young and beautiful’. We can only aspire to be as beautiful as Elsie.”
Elsie passed away on Saturday May 18, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the loving mother of Belinda and John and grandmother to Lauren and Hannah, great-nanna to Lola and Frazer and mother-in-law of Roisin and the late Russ.
A celebration of life is due to take place for Elsie in Lakelands Crematorium on Tuesday May 21, at 12 noon.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
