A security alert in the Lisleitrim Road area of Cullyhanna in South Armagh on Wednesday following the discovery of a suspicious object in the area was later declared an elaborate hoax.
Lisleitrim Road, Sheetrim Road and Lake Road had been closed to traffic as ATO were tasked to the scene
Commenting on confirmation that the suspect device in Cullyhanna was a hoax, local MP Conor Murphy said: “I am glad for those living in the area who can now return to their homes and go about their business as normal.
“I am at a loss as to what would motivate someone to create a phony device such as this which has only led to disruption in the local area.”
