An old-aged pensioner was pinned down in his living room as masked men burgled his house on Saturday night.

The 83-year-old man has been left shaken following the terrifying attack at his house in the Iveagh Walk area of Banbridge last night at around 10pm

Police say three masked men entered the house as one of them held the pensioner in a chair in the living room while the other two ransacked the house.

Sergeant Stephen Wilson said: “It was reported that three males wearing scarves around their faces, wearing hats and coats entered the house at approximately 10pm.

“One of the men held the 83-year-old male occupant in a chair in the living room while the other two males searched the house. The men fled the house with a quantity of cash.

“The man was unharmed, but left shaken by the ordeal.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or anyone with any information which could assist police with their enquiries to contact Detectives at Lurgan Criminal Investigation Branch on 101 quoting reference number 1599 26/08/17.
