Police say they are ‘following a definite line of inquiry’ following a shooting incident in Poyntzpass last night (Thursday).
A man in his 60s was injured after he was shot multiple times through the window of a house in the Tullymore Road area.
Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime in Lurgan are appealing for information into the shocking incident which has stunned the rural community.
Detective Inspector Stephen Harvey explained: “At approximately 10:20pm on Thursday, 9 February, police received a report of a shooting at a house in the Tullymore Road area.
“A man aged in his 60s was injured when a number of shots were fired through a window of the house.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries at this stage.
“Detectives are following a definite line of inquiry and would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them at Lurgan police station on 101 quoting reference number 1245 of 09/02/17 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
