
Two people were taken to hospital following a serious collision outside Scarva on Tuesday afternoon.
One person had to be cut free from a car following the collision on the Glenloughan Road – close to the Ballyvarley Crossroads.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 3pm.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers attended alongside colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. Two people were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.
“The road was shut for a period of time but has since re-opened.”
A spokesperson for the NIFRS confirmed that two appliances from Banbridge attended at the scene.
“Firefighters were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision at Glenloughlan Road. Firefighters rescued one casualty using specialist equipment and two casualties were transferred to the care of NIAS. Firefighters left the scene at 4.53pm.”
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam or other video footage to contact police on 101 quoting reference 920 of 05/08/25.
