Police have appealed for information after vandals targeted up to 15 cars last night.
The incident occurred on a number of streets in Rathfriland.
Police in Armagh said: “Overnight between Tuesday, 22 December and Wednesday, 23 December, the tyres of cars parked in Newry Street and Dromore Street were slashed.
“Enquiries are at an early stage however up to 15 vehicles may be damaged.
“Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed any activity in the Newry Street and Dromore Street areas overnight to contact them on 101, quoting ref: 179 231215. If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Commenting DUP Councillor Paul Greenfield stated: “This is obviously a concerning incident with tyres slashed on a number of vehicles and as we all are aware tyres are expensive to replace.
“This type of mindless vandalism is unwanted in Rathfriland and I would echo the calls by the PSNI for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious to pass this information on to Police immediately and assist them with their inquiries.”
