A Bessbrook man who is accused harassment and stealing South Health Trust identity cards is to face Crown Court proceedings later this year.
The 44-year-old appeared at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for the purposes of a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court.
Neil Kinnin, of Fountain Street, is charged with three counts of harassment and one count of theft.
As the charges were read out, it was heard that the defendant was alleged to have harassed three females between July 31, of 2016, and August 18, of 2018.
Kinnin is further accused of stealing 29 staff identity cards belonging to the Southern Health and Social Care Trust between May 1, of 2016, and May 3, of 2019.
Appearing in court, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Kevin O’Hare made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Eamonn King said that he was satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer.
Kinnin was released on continuing bail to appear before Newry Crown Court on September 9 for arraignment.
