County Armagh jeweller burgled in £80,000 raid

A county Armagh jeweller has been burgled with £80,000 in goods stolen.

The owner of Argento in Craigavon, Peter Boyle, speaking to BBC Radio Ulster’s Nolan Show this morning, said the incident happened at the shipping company it uses, Parcel Express, in Craigavon area over the weekend.

The company has offered £15,000 as a reward for information to the goods’ recovery.

Speaking on the programme, Mr Boyle, said:  “We had a huge break-in at our shipping company Parcel Express in Craigavon.

“We had given them our Christmas stock to deliver on Friday night and unfortunately their warehouse was broken into some time between Friday and Sunday morning and all of our Christmas stock has been stolen, some £80,000 worth of Pandora Christmas stock has gone.

“Most of the products have not even been released, it’s very upsetting and it is our biggest ever loss in our 20 years of doing business.

“We are hoping the reward may lead to some information or the return of the goods, that’s what we are hoping for.

“The scale of that loss is gigantic; it’s effectively someone stealing £1million in sales, that’s what it equates to.”
