Community service for Portadown man who was ‘going mad’ and ‘wrecking’ house

A defence barrister said the defendant had been at a funeral on the day of the offences

Police responded to a report a man was “going mad” and “wrecking” a house in a domestic incident in Portadown.

Charles Joseph McShane (41), of Churchill Park in the the town, admitted being disorderly, assaulting police and possessing cocaine on September 27 last year

A defence barrister said the defendant had been at a funeral on the day of the offences.

At the time the defendant had an addiction relapse but is now “working well” with Probation.

At Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday he was ordered to do 150 hours of Community Service.
