Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Hallowe’en fireworks at Craigavon Lakes will take place on Thursday, October 26 this year, a Council committee has been told.
At a meeting of the leisure and community services committee on Monday, March 13, members were advised the display will take place at the South Lake Leisure Centre.
Working in partnership with Rushmere Shopping Centre, activities will run throughout the day with a ‘creatures of the night’ themed lantern parade set to take place at 7:30pm.
This start time is thirty minutes earlier than the 8pm start time used in previous years.
In order to facilitate the event, the South Lakes Leisure Centre will close to the public from 3pm with the car park closing from 4pm. The café at the leisure centre will remain open but will be offering a take-away service only.
The committee was also told a competition will be held to win a VIP experience in the health and well-being suite to watch the fireworks.
Maps and information have also been created to remind the public of best practices and guidelines around parking to ensure the event has as little impact on local residents as possible.
