Concerns over the rising cases of Covid-19 across Northern Ireland has prompted the Southern Health Trust to suspend visiting at all their sites.
The suspension came into play at 9pm this evening (Friday) with the only exception being end of life visits.
“Due to increasing cases of Covid-19 within our communities, visiting will be suspended from 9pm this evening,” a Trust spokesperson said.
“We encourage friends and family to arrange ‘virtual visits.’ If you need help to arrange, call 07776516419 between 9am and 5pm. We appreciate your continued support.”
According to the official dashboard there were a further 1,380 – up 297 on Thursday – positive cases reported in the last 24 hours with 105 – up 35 – in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon.
There are 12 Covid patients in the Southern Trust area, 11 of whom are in Craigavon Area Hospital, the other in St Luke’s, Armagh.
