A Craigavon man who is accused of wounding another male back in 2018 will face Crown Court proceedings next month.
The 32-year-old appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court for the purposes of a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court.
Simon Robert Johnston, of Carnreagh, is charged with one count of wounding.
As the charged were read, it was heard that the offence was alleged to have been committed by the defendant on October 21, of 2018.
Appearing in court, Johnston made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence counsel made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Bernie Kelly, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, released the defendant on his own bail of £500 to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on March 11.
It is a condition of Johnston’s bail that he does not enter any licenced premises, he does not have alcohol on his person nor is he to have consumed any.
