A man who kicked a police officer several times on the leg has received a five months prison term.
Jonny Titmus (35), of Parkmore in Craigavon, appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to assaulting and resisting police on November 14 last year.
He appeared via video link from prison where he had been on remand.
Police had received a report of a domestic incident and the defendant was “highly intoxicated”.
He kicked an officer several times on the leg and tried to headbutt him.
When arrested, he resisted police.
A defence lawyer said the defendant was sorry for what happened.
District Judge Michael Ranaghan said the defendant had a “bad record around his dealings with police”.
