The Royal Mail delivery office in Craigavon has been put on the market for sale.
The huge site – which extends to over 22,000 sq ft – is located on the Balteagh Road.
The property includes the “purpose-built delivery office and vehicle workshop”, which were constructed almost 70 years ago.
Any would-be buyer would be acquiring a self-contained site of 1.9 acres, which provides considerable circulation space and car parking for in excess of 134 cars and 10 lorries.
The agents for the sale are Lambert, Smith Hampton, who are describing it as an “industrial investment opportunity”.
Offers are being sought in excess of £1,825,000.
And while the property has been put on the market, the Royal Mail Group will remain in situ.
As it stands, they are under a 20-year lease for the site and facilities, which began in August 2011, leaving over eight years remaining on the current contract.
According to the marketing materials: “Craigavon Delivery Office is a principal delivery office network site that forms part of Royal Mail’s ‘last mile service’ commitment. The last mile service commitment is Royal Mail’s obligation to deliver its own and competitor’s mail to customers.
“All mail collected or to be delivered passes through the delivery office network, thus making Craigavon Delivery Office an integral part of the postal service in the UK.”
