A fundraising drive has been set up in the wake of 16-year-old Shane Richardson’s sudden death earlier this week.
The teenager was found dead in his home on Tuesday morning.
And His family wish to raise money to support the work of Edgarstown Residents Association, who had worked closely with Shane in recent months.
All money raised will go directly to providing information and support for young people in relation to a number of community issues.

The JustGiving page states that Shane’s family “have been devastated by their loss and hope that no one else has to go through what they are going through, they hope that this money will ensure that young people are mentored, supported and educated so that they can make better informed life choices”.
It added: “This page has been created at the request of Shane’s family who are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support and wish to thank you in advance for your generous donations!”
Portadown YMCA manager Darryn Causby, who knew Shane personally, said: “All money raised will go directly to providing information and support for young people regarding a number of community issues.”
Shane was dearly loved son of Emma and Stephen and much loved brother of Holly.
His funeral will take place on Saturday at 1.30 p.m. for service in St. Columba’s Parish Church, followed by interment in Kernan Cemetery.
Police have said they are investigating a possible link to drugs while three men remain on police bail.
