A grandmother has been overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers after her lost engagement ring was found and handed in.
It really was a case of the power of social media after an earlier appeal was shared hundreds of times.
A Good Samaritan – having seen the appeal – recognised the missing ring for what it was and followed the instructions by giving it over to the switchboard.
This person did not leave any details and the grateful family would love to get in touch to personally to thank them for their wonderful act of kindness.
The Co Armagh woman had been devastated after the ring – which she has had for more than 45 years – was lost during a visit to the neonatal unit this evening to see her granddaughter.
That was at about 4pm.
But one appeal later and a few hours on and all’s well that ends well!
Now the family want to reach out and say a huge thank-you to them and all the Armagh I followers who took the time to share the appeal!
A family friend said: “Every member of staff at the hospital was on the lookout – word spreads quickly!
“It must have been dropped at the car park pay station and kicked under tables at the coffee lounge.
“The appeal was seen and the ring handed into the switchboard tonight.
“They would love it if this person contacted the switchboard again so they can get in touch and express their gratitude.
“Mum, dad and granny say thank-you to Armagh I from the bottom of their hearts and to everyone for all their lovely prayers and shares.”
